Who are we?

The Slippery Rock High School Alumni Association, Inc. began as the dream of Rosemary (Gill) McMurray, class of 1959. She had advertised in the local newspapers for alumni to assist in forming an association to renew old friendships, make new friends, reminisce about school days, but most importantly to award scholarships to seniors in the graduating class of Slippery Rock Area High School. Harry Beil, principal of Slippery Rock Area High School at the time, was most cooperative and helpful in formulating those plans.

Incorporated in 1998, the Alumni Association holds an annual luncheon to celebrate our shared past as Rockets, to welcome new alumni to our ranks, and to recognize graduating seniors with scholarships as they move forward in the next stages of their lives.

Since 1999, we have awarded over $250,000 in scholarship funds to Rocket alumni.
